What are you currently reading?

The books I’m currently actively reading:

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (page 128)

What did you just finish reading?

Just finished Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Page. I’m so happy to have finally read it and even better that it was my first book for the year! After finding the audiobook available on Libby I just started before I would forget about it again. This surprised me as I went in with no expectations besides it being a twisted version of The Wizard of Oz where Dorothy is ruler but became power and magic hungry and needs to be taken down. I ended up giving it 4 stars! May think about it more but I’m happy with that rating now. The audiobook was a great experience and even though I knew it’d be twisted there were moments that turned way darker and twisted which I was definitely not prepared for.

Though on one note it did irk me at time when the main character was judgy on people’s appearances at times, the way she’d think at times about other people. Also moments of animal cruelty (talk and descriptions about the flying monkeys treatment) and scenes with violence/blood.

After having this on my bookshelf for years I finished it in around two days and now listening to the second book.

What are you planning on reading next?

Started the second book in the Dorothy Must Die series, The Wicked Will Rise. I was just curious on how the story continued and the audiobook also happened to be available to borrow.
