20 Questions Book Tag

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all having a wonderful day!

I’ve never really done tags on my blog but I love reading them, especially book tags. I love my books, a book is always strapped to my side but I feel like I don’t do bookish themed content on my blog and I want to do more because books are important in my life!

Found this book tag from Jenny in Neverland. Love her blog and style! I came across this tag by her which she said she got from Boston Book Reader.

How many books is too many in a series?

If I had to pick a number it would be three, so a trilogy. I feel like for me it doesn’t feel like the story has been stretched out for too long and maybe it’s due to impatience as well. I like to have the whole series and then I read them one after the other. I say that but I have series with definitely over three books (Mortal Instruments & Outlander) but yeah three is nice.

How do you feel about cliffhangers?

It depends. I do like cliffhangers as it definitely makes me want to start reading the next book in the series straight away. I hate it when when it it’s supposed to be a stand alone book but leaves it open and you’re left thinking like…but what happens?. For some books an ending with a cliffhanger may work but for others it kinda makes it feel incomplete.

Hard copy or paperback?

Hmmm, I love the feel of a hard copy. It just feels great when reading, however, they’re more expensive. To save money I’d probably choose a paperback.

Favourite book?

The first book I fell in love with was Shiver by Maggie Steifvater. There is so many to choose from but some that come to mind are:

  1. Halo by Alexandra Adornetto (series)
  2. Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elekeles
  3. Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
  4. Note to Self by Connor Franta
  5. Fateful by Claudia Gray

Okay I can probably go on forever but I’m going to stop at five.

Least favourite book?

Oh, I don’t know. Most books I’ve read I’ve ended up enjoying one way or another, if not, then I probably donated it and forgotten about it. I don’t have book that comes to mind I’m afraid.

Love triangles, yes or no?

Majority of the time, no. I’m not a fan of love triangles as they kinda frustrate me if it doesn’t go the way I planned it with the characters. I hate when the main characters have a quarrel so one will run to the other person in the triangle to anger the other and make them jealous. I get very committed to the characters.

The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

I would have to say Frankenstein. I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to read it and the story just wasn’t sinking in so I decided to put it to the side.

A book you’re currently reading?

I’m currently reading two books. I’m reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor – been wanting to read this series for so long and so happy to start it. Another book I’m loving is what I’m currently reading on my Kindle which is Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (And Other Lies) by Scarlett Curtis. Great reads.

Last book you recommended to someone?

The last book I recommended to somebody was Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (And Other Lies).

Oldest book you’ve read?

Umm, I think the oldest book I’ve read is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

The newest book you’ve read?

I think Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (And Other Lies) would be the newest book .

Favourite author?

Wow, again, how can I choose?! I don’t think I have answer. There’s so many.

Buying books or borrowing books?

Hmm I’ve borrowed books in the past but recently I have bought more books then borrowing them. This way I don’t feel rushed when reading it and don’t have the pressure of finishing it within a time period.

A book you dislike that everyone seems to like?

Pollyanna was a novel I remember starting to read but felt lost and stopped. That was a while ago. That’s the only book I can think of.

Bookmarks or dogears?

I lean more towards bookmarks, they look so pretty, but if need be I’d dog-ear.

A book you can always re-read?

Shiver by Maggie Steifvater.

Can you read whilst listening to music?

If anything just instrumental music. It can be either piano music or instrumental music from soundtracks.

One POVs or multiple POVs?

I’m happy with both. I’m not fussed. It’s cool reading other POVs so you can see what’s happening with other characters and their thoughts.

Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

I think over multiple days. I can get through quite a big chunk in one sitting if I didn’t have any interruptions but yeah I’ll read over a few days.

One book you read because of the cover?

Hmmm…Sea of Strangers by Lang Leav. When I saw that book I wasn’t really into poetry and prose but the cover drew me in. I loved the colours together, blue with a baby pink. I ended up really loving that book and have been wanting to find more of Lang Leav’s writings.

Hope you enjoyed this tag!

Until next time…

  1. I love reading too. My favourite go to authors would be Erica James and Jane Green if i want to get lost in English country side UK or New England if in USA. I also get invested with my characters. I love imagining every discription they use to describe scenery or a character.
I also do get attracted to the covers of a book first before i grab it to read the blurb. I am definitely a buy a book kinda person. I have many many shelves filled with books. I would rather buy another bookshelf than part with a book.. lol….
