Book Unhaul! (30 Books)

Hello everybody! How are you today?

Now, on this blog I’ve done a lot of books hauls, and I have so much fun doing them, but I’ve never actually done a book UNhaul. So, I thought this would a nice time to do it. It’s December, nearly the end of the years, and it’s a good time to have a sort out of my books. Whenever I do an unhaul I love to donate them to op-shops. These books might not be for me right now but could be the right book for someone else.

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

This has been sitting on my shelf for quite a few years now. From what I’ve read on people’s review it does seem like a good book, with an important message but it’s just a book that I never picked up. It’d be great to pass it on and maybe someone else will find it and enjoy it.

Binge by Tyler Oakley

Again, been on my shelf but never touched so I thought it was time to say goodbye.

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

This book is well-known throughout the book community. It’s either been great reviews or hated. At the beginning I was excited, but with the continuous talk about this book it’s put me off reading this and no longer want it on my shelf. I just have this feeling that it’s not going to be a favourite so instead of it just gathering dust, I’ll move it on.

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

Once again, this has been everywhere. It’s a similar reason for Eleanor & Park, began excited but as time has gone by my interest just decreased and I’ve moved onto other books.

Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut

I read this for Uni and didn’t mind it but at the same time wasn’t 100% sure what was happening and I know I won’t be picking it up again. I know it’s a classic but if I have no intention to read it then why bother, right?

The Magician by Raymond E. Feist

This is a big book and I’ve decided to only keep big books if I’m determined to read the whole thing and not just stop half way. I don’t know, when I bought it I thought I’d like it but I don’t feel like I’ll connect to the story. I also read somewhere that he rarely rights about female characters and if he does it’s always below the mens status and never equal sooo that definitely put me off.

Before I Fall by Jennifer Niven

I believe this is a movie? I’ve never seen it or read the book. Thought the plot would be interesting but the enthusiasm has dimmed.

Goddess of Troy by P.C. Cast

I bought this around the same time I bought the Goddess Test series by Aimee Carter and after not being blown away with the series it put me off reading similar stories for a while. I think my time with this book is over.

Matched by Ally Condie

The plot of this story sounds so cool! But the moment I heard that there was a love triangle ruined it for me. I don’t like love triangles and just find them frustrating (of course there are some exceptions if it’s not prolonged but most of the time ugh!). Also, Emmabooks on Youtube just kept saying for her each book just got worse and as I wasn’t already 100% keen that was enough for me.

Peach Fuzz by Lindsay cibos, Jarred Hodges

This seems like a cute Manga but just not what I’m interested in reading right now as I have other Manga’s I’m more interested in.

Bakuman vo. 2 by Tsugumi ohba, Takeshi Obata

Fushigi Yugi vol. 5 & 7 by Yuu Watase

The same goes for these Manga’s. Also, because these are in the middle of the series but not curious enough to hunt for the first ones.

Eve trilogy by Anna Carey

I feel like I’m repeating myself, sorry, but it’s a series I was first intrigued about but interest has gone and my excitement has moved onto other books.

Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr

I’ve had the whole series sitting on my shelf for years! I kept telling myself I’ll get to them when I’m ready and up for it. Goodreads doesn’t have the best reviews and even though I know that shouldn’t completely sway me it’s just not helping me with wanting to start the series. Also, I struggle with getting through series, even if I love them, and this has 5 books in it.

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare + Spin offs

Okay you die hard Shadowhunter fans bear with me right! I’ve been wanting to take these off my shelves for a while but I kept stopping myself. I came to the conclusion that I will never be able to read the whole series because trilogies are long enough for me and take me long enough to get through them. I’ve read the first book over and over again in hopes to start the series but never do and, to be honest, one of my biggest reasons was space. It took up a lot and mum was buying her own set of the series so I thought right this is the time to finally clear them out. I’m really happy with my decision as my book shelves look a whole lot cleaner.

Well that’s my end of year clear out and I’m pretty happy with it. It feels good to do one big unhaul so you can focus on the ones you’re excited to get to and helps you realise the books you’re still intrigued in or may have forgotten about. Have you done a book unhaul yet?

Until next time…
