Hello everyone! Hope you’re all having a great day!
1st month of the year is done and I’m happy to say January was a great month reading wise. I feel like I definitely made the most of the month as once uni starts again I know my reading will slow down.
Readings stats:
- 9 books
- 1 DNF
- 1 paused reading it (put to the side for another time)
The Books I Read This Month Were:
- Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
- The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige
- Sea of Strangers by Lang Leav
- Artek: Seven Brides for Seven Aliens by Honey Phillips
- Yellow Brick War by Danielle Paige
- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
- The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston
- Gothikana by RuNyx (received an eArc from NetGalley)
- Spy x Family Vol.1 by Tatsuya Endo

DNFs:
- Skipping Christmas by John Grisham
I just came to the conclusion that I just preferred the movie. Also, the fact the book is only 198 pages and took me around a month (started in mid Dec – early Jan) to get to the 50% mark was enough for me to just stop.
Books I Paused Reading/Pushed to the Side:
- Gods and Monsters by Shelby Mahurin
At the beginning of January I decided to just stop reading it as my interest at the time was low and was finding myself just picking up other books and flying through them instead. I just wanted to prioritise mood reading rather than finishing it for the sake of finishing as I thought it’d ruin the experience for me as I did enjoy reading this world, although my favourite was still very much book 1.
My Favourites and Least Favourite This Month:
I would say my favourites would be between Six of Crows and Spy x Family Vol.1. My least favourite read this month would have to be Yellow Brick War.

I was able to also cross off a few things during the Newyearsathon (1st – 14th) which I always love! Unfortunately didn’t end up properly reviewing any books so couldn’t cross that one off.
Plus I was also able to complete January’s prompt from BooksandLala’s Buzzwordathan: “Life” and “Death”. For this prompt I read The Dead Romantics.
Hope you all had a lovely reading month and January in general!
Until next time…
xx
