What’s the best book you’ve read so far this year?
My favourite book I’ve read this so would be King of the South by Calia Read. I don’t think of it as a five star read but out of all my reads for the first half the year it’d be a favourite.
What has been your favourite sequel for the first half of the year?
- Scarred (Never After #2) by Emily McIntire
- Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Is there a new release yet that you haven’t read yet but really excited to?
Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Shwartz
What is your most anticipated release for the second half of the year?
- Kingdom of the Feared by Kerri Maniscalco
- My Imaginary Mary by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows
- Lore Olympus Vol.2 by Rachel Smythe
- A Very Merry Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams
What is your biggest disappointment so far?
My lowest enjoyment read so far would be A Spindle Splintered by Alix E. Harrow. It was still an interesting read but just didn’t grasp my attention much as I’d hoped. I listened to the audiobook and it was told well it just didn’t stick much.
What is your biggest surprise so far?
Violent Bent Backwards Over the Grass by Lana Del Ray
I just happened to come across it and loved the audiobook and they way it was told, then ended up buying the physical as well as the vinyl! I just found her voice so comforting!
Who is your favourite new to you or debut author?
I’ve only read a small handful of new authors but none have been become a favourite.
Who is your favourite fictional crush from this year?
I don’t have a set one but I think it’ll be:
- Casteel from From Blood and Ash
- Quan from The Heart Principle
- Brishen from Radiance
- Livingston from King of the South
Who is your new favourite character?
I don’t have a new favourite character (I swear I have been enjoying my books)! Like I love the Heartstopper cast and all the guys listed above but they’re not new, you know.
A book that made you cry?
Haven’t cried yet this year from a book.
A book that made you happy?
Rereading Heartstopper by Alice Oseman. They are my go to for a comfort read.
Your favourite book/tv series that you’ve seen so far?
The new Heartstopper series, finally finishing the lastest season of Outlander and Boy Meets World! Boy Meets World has now become a favourite series. Movie wise I watched Avatar for the first time and loved as well as The Amazing Spiderman.
What is your favourite post that you’ve written so far this year?
I think my favourite post would be Book Characters That Represent My Emotions. On Tiktok I saw people doing that trend with either actors/actresses or characters so I thought I’d do a post. It was something different for me and a bit of fun!
