Book/Library Haul

Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a lovely day/night šŸ˜€

It’s been a while seen I’ve done a haul as I’ve been trying to hold off on purchasing new books and been opting to go to the library instead. I’ve been going a lot more since last year and thought I should actually do a mini haul! These are the books so far this year.

Oh and don’t mind the qualities of the photos (took them a different times of the day over the month haha).

*I feel like I don’t really need to talk about the first three books I’ve purchased as I’ve mentioned them a lot already!*

Radiance by Grace Draven

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass by Lana Del Rey

Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz

Purchased

Once I saw this book on upcoming releases earlier this year I knew I had to grab it. The cover immediately grabbed my attention but this whole premise seems my kind of book and needed to add it to my collection. I’ll definitely be reading it this year.

Lore Olympus Vol 1 by Rachel Smythe

Purchased

Ended up purchasing my own copy as I knew reading my copy from the library was going to leave me wanting my own copy so jumped straight to it.

On This Day She by Jo Bell, Tania Hershman and Alisa Holland

Borrowed

This book was on display at my local library and I went straight to it. I found this fascinating as each page represents each day of the year and on that page a woman in history is introduced and her accomplishments. This would be good to read a bit each day or so and learn about more women contributions in our world.

City of Secrets by Victoria Ying

Borrowed

I’ve never seen this graphic novel before but the artwork looked cute (I guess it’s easy to see what attracts me :P) but I also read good reviews, one describing the setting as a Ghibli-esque city so I thought I should give it a try. The premise is where a girl and boy find a secret that’s hidden in a puzzle, that is an entire building, and need to solve it to save the city.

Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer

Borrowed

I’ve already mentioned this graphic novel on my blog and you might have seen I’ve already read it and enjoyed it. I don’t think I’ll purchase a copy of my own but I liked reading it and getting back into the Lunar Chronicles world.

Wires and Nerve: Gone Rogue by Marissa Meyer

Borrowed

Of course as soon as I finished the first I put on hold the second graphic novel and it just came in so I’ll definitely be getting around to it shortly.

Off the Record by Camryn Garrett & To Sir, With Love by E.R. Braithwaite

Borrowed

Off the Record is a book I’ve seen online so I grabbed it at the library. Initially, I thought this was just revolved around some basic gossip and wasn’t sure whether to write about it or not but digging into this story more I’ve seen this story actually involved deeper and darker topics/themes which peaked my interest even more. Before it starts there’s a content warning of discussions about sexual assault and sexual harassment. I know this will be a powerful read.

To Sir With Love was a film I watched growing up and still watch so when I saw the book I was keen to read especially as it was based on actual events.

I Would Leave Me If I Could by Halsey

Borrowed

I picked this up on a whim as I remember this being advertised when it first came out but I completely forgot about it. It was good to read and especially listen to as Halsey was the narrator. I really love it when the author, especially if it’s poetry, to narrate it themselves as you can understand the emotion even more. It always hits deeper when you hear them.

Have you bought any new books this year or been to your library recently?

Until next time…

xx
