Hello everyone! How are you today?
I knew that in December I wanted to take part in a Christmas readathon as I love Christmas! I came across the ‘A Very Merry Readathon’ and saw that this year’s theme is based on A Christmas Carol. We are already a couple of days into the readathon and had hoped to post this before but oh well.
This readathon is hosted by Vanessa (Paper Faerie), Hannah (Tiny Book Dragon), Melissa (The Bookish Babbler) and Christa (The Bookish Porcupine). There are five prompts along with the option to do the group book as well. It runs from the 13th – 19th of December but I might be a bit cheeky and start on the 13th but finish on christmas eve as I’ll be working as much as I can until we close for the year. Can I do that? Is that allowed?
Now for the prompts….
Scrooge – a book with gold on the cover
Chosen book: Little Women
This year I got a beautiful copy of the book that included pictures from the lastest movie and I love it. I really hope to get to this in December, if not, then definitely January but hope to read for this festive month.
Ghost of Christmas Past – childhood book/old favourite
Chosen book: geronimo stilton, A Boy Called Christmas
I’m currently reading A Boy Called Christmas with my little brother so I thought it would fit this prompt. If I have time I might also read a Geronimo stilton as they have a couple of christmas stories in their series and it was a series I loved reading in primary school.
Ghost of Christmas Present – book you currently feel like reading
Chosen book: undecided
This one I’m gonna leave open and see what book I choose. I’m currently reading Women Don’t Owe You Pretty by Florence Given, maybe I use this or a manga.
Ghost of Christmas Future – book that intimidates you
Chosen book: Winter
I’m currently over halfway yay! This book intimidates me because it’s over 800 pages and I know that’s one of the main reason I didn’t pick it up straight away but with help from the audiobook I’m powering through it. I think I have a bit over 300 pages to go so I’m confident that I will finish it by the end of the readathon if I keep up with the audiobook.
Tiny Tim – disability representation
Chosen book: Six of Crows
I’ve heard Six of Crows has good representation through the main characters and I have been wanting to read this for a while now. I always see people reading it and loving it and I want to be apart of that! Also, it’s a duology and I like duologies. I hope I love this as much as other people do.
Group Book – A Christmas Carol
The group’s book is obviously A Christmas Carol but as I read it last year this will be a reread for me so I’m not in a rush to pick it up but if I have time I will read it. I have watched A Muppets Christmas Carol though haha.
Anyone else partaking in this readathon?
Until next time…
xx
