Hello everyone!
For this month I had fun doing the Bratz readathon. I didn’t post a TBR as I wasn’t sure what I was going to be reading. I was just going to see what I would be in the mood for. There was nothing about whether you could double up on prompts or not. It ran from the 1st of September to the 31st of September. I found out about this readathon from the YouTube channel @BookswithChloe. Pretty much, you follow the prompts depending on which Bratz character you choose. Your choices were either Sasha, Chloe, Jade or Yasmin. I chose Yasmin.
The Prompts for Yasmin were:

Pretty Princess: Read a book with a crown on the cover
You Should See Me In a Crown by Leah Johnson
I listened to the audiobook and flew through it. I finished it in about two days. Recently, with contemporaries, it’s hard to hold my attention but I found myself wanting to jump back in to this book and find out what happens next. I’d been wanting to check this book out for a while and so glad I read it.
Latinx: Read an ownvoices Latinx book
Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo
My second Elizabeth Acevedo and again was not disappointed. I listened to the audiobook and I’m glad I did. It was good to hear the author as one of the narrators. As it was told in verse it did make it slightly difficult to have a connection but at the same time it was well done and powerful in emotions.
Hopeless Romantic: Read a Book With Romance
Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks
I feel like at least once a month I read a historical romance and this month it’s Never Seduce a Scot. This was a fun one and I found it interesting how she based the main female character off her husband (if I remember correctly) as he has a hearing disability and read lips to understand what someone is saying. It was interesting to learn that.
Also, as historical romances go it was a fun time, entertaining read and I will be checking out Maya Banks other books.
Animal Rescue: Read a book with an animal on the cover
Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
I’m so happy I finally read this as I keep staring at the book ever since it’s been on the shelf! And it was great!
Group Book: The Henna Wars (or a book with a f/f romance)
You Should See Me In a Crown by Leah Johnson
As my hold on The Henna Wars didn’t come through in time from the library I decided to use You Should See Me In a Crown as it has a f/f romance in it and they are so cute! So glad to have finally read this as I’d been hearing good things about this book.
Other Books I Read This Month Was:
- Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
- The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O’Neill
How was everyone’s September? Hope you’re all happy and safe!
Until next time…
xx
