Hello everyone! How are you today?
Okay after April I’m feeling pretty good with my reading (watch me fail this month ahah) and I really want to join the Asian Readathon and the Medieval-a-thon. I saw these two readathons last year but didn’t participate. This year I want to try them. They both run for the whole of May so I going to try to read books that can work in both readathons, overlap them.
Warning this TBR is a mess! I’m pretty much writing down all the books I’ve got my eyes on and I’m incredibly indecisive. So get ready for it to be all over the place.
Asian Readathon
This readathon is hosted by Readwithcindy, so check out her announcement video for all information and links. One thing that was mentioned was to try to read a diverse range of Asian authors. You can combine challenges. I don’t have 100% set TBR so this is my current plan.
Challenges for Asian Readathon:
- Read any book by an Asian author – Death Note Vol. 2 (Black edition) by Tsugumi Ohba
- Read a book featuring an Asian character or written by an Asian author who you can relate to – Sea of Strangers by Lang Leav or The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
- Read a book featuring an Asian character or written by an Asian author who is different from you – Death Note Vol.2 (Black edition) by Tsugumi Ohba
- Read a book recommended by an Asian – Wicked Fox by Kat Cho (got this recommendation from @BookswithChloe)
They’re a few more I want to get to so maybe throughout this month and the next month I’ll read them but these listed are what I’ll focus on first.
Medieval-a-thon
The Medieval-a-thon is hosted by Holly Hearts Books, so if you’re curious then check out her announcement video. This readathon has prompts/challenges to customise your journey through the books you choose. Also, Holly did say even though it’s medieval based you don’t need to read medieval based books or only fantasy, it’s open to all genres. Oh and she also said for something fun there’s a nobility ranking and you can see where you’d end up depending on the number of books you read in the month (0 books = peasants – 7 books = emperor/empress).

Prompts I’m going for:
- A Shiny Book – Death Note Vol. 2 (Black edition) by Tsugumi Ohba
- Favourite Colour on the Spine – Gemina by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman
- Pristine book – Seas of Strangers by Lang Leav

Prompts I’m going for:
- Romance – The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa
- Something Pointy on the Cover – The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
- Start or Finish of a Duology – Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
- A Book you have HIGH expectations for – What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon

Prompts I’m going for:
- Orange on the Dust Jacket – Star-touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
So this is my chaotic TBR! I could’ve easily kept listing books that could’ve matched each prompt but let’s be real as if I’m going to manage all these books let alone adding extra ones. Altogether that’s 10 books!
Good luck to me.
Are any of you participating in either one of these readathons? Or both?
Until next time…
xx
I hope you have a great reading month!
