April TBR (O.W.Ls Readathon)

Hello everyone!

It is that time of year again for G’s (@Book Roast) Magical Readathon, all focused on Harry Potter. I participated in this readathon last year as well as the N.E.W.Ts. and succeeded in achieving the career of a Herbologist. I loved this and it felt wrong not to participate in this again!

If you’re curious about the readathon and want to know more information I’ll provide some links below:

Through these links you’ll be able to find the Career guide and all the prompts as well 🙂

My Wizarding Career!

The top 3 careers I was looking at was Herbologist, Writer/Journalist and Care of Magical Children. As I did the career path for Herbologist last year, as tempting as it is to do it again (although there’s nothing stopping me), I thought I’d try for something different.

Writer/Journalist have three prompts so I’m going to start by trying to complete those and if I, somehow, manage to achieve all three prompts then I’ll see if I can manage to complete another career path that will take longer. This will be Care of Magical Children which has eight prompts to achieve it.

Soooo….

Aim:

  • Writer/Journalist, three prompts (muggle studies, history of magic, +1 subject of your choosing)

Bonus:

  • Care of Magical Children, eight prompts

TBR (for only Writer/Journalist)

  • Muggle studies: a contemporary
  • History of magic: book featuring witches/wizards
  • Astronomy: a book read majority at night

The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare and The Tunnels of Bones by Victoria Schwab

Prompt: a book read majority at night

The Duchess Deal will be my ebook and I read those just before I go to bed so I’d thought to add this in.

Otherwise, I’d be focusing on The Tunnel of Bones. About a month ago I read the first book and this just came through in my library so I thought it’d be perfect to read now.

Howl’s Moving Castle

Prompt: book featuring witches/wizards

Always been wanting to read this. So excited to start it! Love Howl’s Moving Castle so I’m interested in seeing what the book’s like. Apparently, Howl is even more dramatic in the book haha!

Contemporaries

Prompt: muggle studies

  • Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey
  • The Bride Test by Helen Hoang

I don’t have a set book in mind. For contemporaries I have a few I do really want to read. These two are high on the list and I do want to get around to them. So I guess we’ll find out what I choose in the wrap up!

Are you participating in O.W.Ls? I love reading everyone’s TBR!

Until next time…

xx
