Top 5 (Tuesday)…Authors K to O + P to T

Hey everyone!

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm. If you’re interested in the upcoming topics for March then I’ll provide a link here. I missed last week’s one so I’ll be doing both in this post!

K – Jay Kristoff

I have yet to read a book by Jay Kristoff but he’s definitely high on my list. I have a few of his sitting on my shelf and this year will be the year to dive into them.

L – Emma Lord

This year I read her debut novel, Tweet Cute, which I enjoyed. It was a fun read and will keep an eye out for her next book if she releases another.

M – Kerri Maniscalco

I am in the last book of the Stalking Jack the Ripper series so it seemed fitting to put Kerri Maniscalco in here. I love her writing, the atmosphere and the characters she creates.

N – Natasha Ngan

I haven’t read Girls of Paper and Fire but one day I might get around to it.

O – Alice Oseman

I immediately thought of Alice Oseman. Her Heartstopper graphic novels have become one of my favourite series on my shelves. They’re always great to read when I want to feel happy as it’s so cute and wholesome. They’re a great pick me up.

R – Hallie Rubenhold/Calia Read

I wanted to mention both authors for this.

Hallie Rubenhold is an author I’ve only just heard of. I have only just borrowed a book by her and a couple of pages in but it’s an important book for history. Her book is all about the five victims of Jack the Ripper. Pretty much everyone knows about the notorious Jack the Ripper but nobody really knows the victims. This is their story, to know who these women really were. This with be an intense, sad read but I feel like it will be very informative and I’d imagine this topic would be taken with deep consideration. Someone in their blog mentioned this book as one of their top reads so I thought I’d give it a go.

Calia Read has a trilogy called the Surviving Time trilogy. It’s about a woman who time travels back in time to the early 1900s in America. She wakes up to find out she has a husband and a past doppelganger. Lovers of Outlander should definitely check this series out. Outlander is hard to beat for me (Claire and Jamie) but I really enjoyed this series! Worth a check out.

S – Maggie Steifvater

Shiver, Linger and Forever is a series that holds a place in my heart. It’s not for everyone due to the pacing and the plot. I might not think about it often but as soon as I pick it up and start reading it, it brings this giddy smile on my face as it has become a comfort book for me. It’s a series I’ll be holding on to.

I’m also in the middle of another series by her called The Raven Boys. Her writing style is one that I enjoy reading.

T – Angie Thomas

Another author I’ve yet to read from. I keep telling myself I’ll read T.H.U.G but I keep getting distracted with other books. I will get around to it one day.

So good to be back up to date. I feel like this month’s theme is just me always saying ‘I’ll read these authors one day’ haha.

Hope you enjoyed this!

Until next time…

xx
