Book Releases I’m Excited For Next Year

Hey everyone! How are you?

Soon it’ll be the new year and that also means new books! Throughout this year I’ve been keeping an eye out for new releases and made a note of them. I have quite a few noted but these are the main books I’ll be keeping an eye out for. Hopefully I have all of the release dates correct, if not let me know 🙂

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord – 21st January 2020

Genre – Contemporary, YA

This rom-com is Emma Lord’s debut. It reminds me of You’ve Got Mail as there are two rival businesses. It is consistently seen through the companies twitter account. Pepper and Jack go to the same high school but are not each other’s biggest fans, however, as time goes on they find that they’re slowly falling in love with each other. Little do they know they are the ones that are controlling their families business Twitter accounts are currently in a Twitter war with each other.

Heartstopper Vol.3 by Alice Oseman- 6th February 2020

Genre – Contemporary, YA, Graphic Novel, LGBTQ+

This continues Nick and Charlie’s love story! Last year I read Volume 1 & 2 and have fallen in love with them and need this!

This Train is Being Held by Ismee Amiel Williams – 11th February 2020

Genre – Contemporary, YA

Two teenager who meet each other on a train. This follows through small glances and encounters over years but when they need someone to talk to they cross paths.

This book will contain a lot of conversations on family dynamics and there will be Domincan-American rep as well as talks revolving around mental health. I have a feeling there will be some heavy conversations.

Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett – 5th May 2020

Genre – Contemporary, YA

I saw Jenn Bennett and it immediately went on my wishlist. I just really adore her writing style and the characters she creates so I’m excited to see what this story’s like. The main setting of this story is New England and a family run bookstore.

The Life and (Medieval) Times of Kit Sweetly by Jamie Pacton – 5th June 2020

Genre – Contemporary, Romance, YA

This one seems a whole lot of fun. It’s supposedly Moxie meets A Knight’s Tale. I don’t know Moxie but I do know A Knight’s Tale and it’s a movie I really like.

Kit Sweetly works at a medieval themed restaurant as a ‘wench’ but her brother gets to be a knight. Kit Sweetly wants to be a knight too but company policy only allows males to be knights. She’s just going to have to prove to them how good of a knight she can be!

Seasons of the Storm by Elle Cosimano- 23rd June 2020

Genre – Fantasy, YA

There are four individuals who are the embodiment of the seasons (Summer, Spring, Autumn, Winter). Jack become Winter however that means that he must kill the Season who came before him just like all the others do. Winter kills Autumn. Spring kills Winter. However Fleur (Spring) and Jack (Winter) start to fall in love and need to break the cycle. Their creator has other plans.

This book is high on my list!

Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin – 1st September 2020

Genre – Fantasy, YA

A summary hasn’t been released yet but after Serpent and Dove I’m really looking forward to this.

After reading Serpent and Dove I just knew I needed to pick up the next book, especially since this is the last book in the duology.

Famine and Death (The Four Horsemen #3,#4) by Laura Thalassa – no release date yet but hopefully soon

Genre – Dystopian, Fantasy/Paranormal, Romance, New Adult

There’s not a lot I know about either of these books. There hasn’t been a release date yet or a book summary. I’m patiently waiting…

Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco – 2020

Genre – Historical fiction, YA, Fantasy

Kingdom of the Wicked is set in 19th century Italy and the story follows a witch who is seeking the truth after her sister was murdered.

Immediately went onto my wishlist for next year. I love Kerri Maniscalco’s writing and the atmosphere she creates, it’s so vivid.

There are a few others I could’ve added but I have yet to read the first book in the series. I can’t wait for them to be finally released. Are there any books you’re looking forward to next year?

Until next time…
