Harry Potter Christmas Tag

Hello everyone! How are we today?

We have one week to go until Christmas day! I swear this month is one of the fastest months this year. I thought I’d start the one week countdown with a Christmas tag all around Harry Potter. I found this on Adventures of a Bibliophile, I love all the tags she does, and this tag was created by Charleigh Writes (I believe she’s done another one this year which I’ll definitely be checking out!). I’ve provided links to both blogs.

It’s your first Christmas at Hogwarts. What’s one book you’ve asked for this year?

I don’t think I’ve actually asked for a book. I may have mentioned the books I like and want to buy one day but never actually asked for a book for somebody to buy me.

You spot Hagrid hauling this Christmas tress through the grounds. What is the longest (or heaviest!) book you own?

I think this goes to my Outlander books. I have the first two in the series and Outlander has 850 pages. I’m pretty sure all the the others have around the same. Yeah they’re definitely my longest books. That’s my absolute limit with pages.

It’s time for the famous Great Hall feast. What’s one book you can’t read without snacks?

There’s no specific books that I associate food with. I sometimes have snacks with me and they can be either chips, fruit or just a tea. Maybe if anything, graphic novels are good with snacks.

Well done, you’ve brewed your first Polyjuice potion. What’s one book you’d change the cover of?

My edition of the Shatter Me series doesn’t have the best covers. They’re very plain with a black background and a girl on the cover. I adore the editions with eye designs, for what the series is famously known for, and all the vibrant colours. Mines just plain and would love to swap it with those editions.

You receive a brand new Firebolt for Christmas. What’s one book you read super quickly?

For this year I reckon my quickest read that surprised me was the Black edition of Deathnote Vol.1. It wasn’t the quickest read compared to other graphic novels and mangas but I thought it would talk me a day or two to read it but I ended up finishing it in an afternoon. I was just that sucked into the story line that I did not want to put it down.

You join Harry for his first proper Christmas. What’s one book you’d love to receive this year?

I’m always happy with a new book so any would be great! I don’t have any specific ones that I’m desperate for so any would be a lovely surprise. This week I did do a Dear Santa list for Top 5 Tuesday.

You get hit by one of Fred and George’s flying snowballs. What’s a book you wanted to throw across the room?

This year I think I’ve been pretty good with my selection of books. There hasn’t been any that I wanted to catapult across the room. I’ll admit there have been times I’ve gotten irritated and frustrated at characters or situations but haven’t reached that point. Maybe I’m worried about wrecking my books too much haha.

You’ve just visited Hogsmeade for the first time. What’s one popular book you haven’t read yet?

Oh man so many! The Renegades series by Marissa Meyer, The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas, Caraval series by Stephanie Garber, the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi, Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, Throne of Glass series and Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas.

Like I said so many and so much more! I was actually thinking of writing a post on all the popular books I haven’t read yet.

Congratulation, you’ve been invited to the Yule Ball. What book about Christmas do you love?

There’s the classics like How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss, The Polar Express (I have the book version from the movie adaptation) and A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (which I recently read for the first time and really enjoyed!). There’s also ones that’s not as classic but great for kids like Geronimo Stilton: The Christmas Toy Factory. It’s cute.

You find Ron’s deliminator. What’s one book that’s helped you through some dark times?

I wasn’t going through a dark time but it was so refreshing to read Scarlet Curtis’ Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (and Other Lies). I really enjoyed it as it was focused on women empowerment and I had never read anything like it before. I remember highlighting throughout the whole book (on my Kindle) and was the first time I got into that. I definitely will seek out a physical copy so I can sticky note my favourite sections. It is one I always remember.
