Top 5 (Tuesday)….Favourite Audiobooks!

Hi everyone! How are you? Hope you’re having a lovely day!

Today’s Top 5 is all about audiobooks! I’ve still new to listening to audiobooks. I only started audioooks this year on Audible so I haven’t listened to many and only have a few saved in my library.

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shannah from Bionic Book Worm and I will leave here link here for you to check out!

Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor

Narrated by: Khristine Hvam

This is the second book in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor. I am only mentioning the second book as it’s the only one out the series I listened to. Listening to the audiobook helped me in pushing through the first handful of chapters to get me back into Karou and Akiva’s world as it was a few months after finishing the first book. I liked the audiobook so much that I continued with it and listened to it as I read a long. It really helped me stay engaged in the story. I probably read it quicker with the audiobook than I would’ve if just on my own.

Harry Potter by J.K Rowling

Narrated by: Stephen Fry

This goes for any of the books in the Harry Potter series. Stephen Fry and Harry Potter are a great combination. This is my first time going through the Harry Potter books (shocking I know!) and listening to the audiobook is so much fun! It’s great for anytime of the day, anywhere and for anyone. Definitely recommend them. I am currently onto Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman

Narrated by: Sarah Beth Goer

I am currently on chapter three in the story, about an hour into the audiobook, so I’m still getting into it but I have heard the audiobook is really good. After watching a Booktuber read along with the audiobook he recommended it as later on there’s apparently a song that’s creepy and the narrator does a great job with it, setting the mood, so I’m definitely intrigued on how creepy it is.

What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon

Narrated by: Saskia Maarleveld, Will Damron

This is an audiobook I’ve saved into my library. I got it as I was offered the audiobook for only a couple of dollars as I had bought the book on Kindle. It’s also been given good reviews and ratings. I haven’t read the book yet either so I’m wondering if I should read along with audiobook as well. Certainly sounds like it will be a good one. There’s talk about war, time-travel and romance.

To The Woman

Narrated by: Scarlett Curtis

To the Woman is a five episode podcast. Each episode ranges from 20 minutes to 30 minutes so they’re not very long to listen to. I discovered Scarlet Curtis with her book Feminists Don’t Wear Pink (and Other Lies), It’s Not Okay to Feel Blue (and other lies) and enjoyed it as I’d never read anything like it before. This podcast follows a similar theme. It was published for International Woman’s Day. It’s all about celebrating women of the world and sharing stories. I feel as though this podcast is great one that needs to be to listened as if delivers an important message.

I had hoped to talk more about audiobooks that I’ve listened to and enjoyed but as there wasn’t many that I own, I kind of gave what I’ve listened to, what I’m currently listening to and will be planning to listen to.

What are your favourite audiobooks? What audiobooks are planning to listen to?

Until next time…

xx
