Hey everyone! How are you?
I’m back with another readathon! But this one is Gilmore Girls themed! Gilmore Girls is one of my favourite TV shows and I’m so happy it’s been made into a readathon. I grew up watching Gilmore Girls (actually I was a baby when it came out but started watching it when I was around 10). It’s such a great idea. While I read maybe I’ll watch the series in the background.
This is held from October 1st-15th. I watched Pastel Pages (one of the hosts) announcement (it’s such a cute video as well). YouTube actually recommended me this video out of nowhere (thank you). I will link her video here. You can do this readathon in two different ways. The first way is to either read as many books on the Rory Gilmore reading list. Or. You can follow the 7 challenges given. I’ll probably do the challenges option.
Okay my TBR is not set in stone so I’ll be giving a couple of options each and pick whatever one I’m in the mood for when the time comes. All book titles will include links to their Goodreads page.
1. Read a book with a school setting (in honour of Yale and Chilton)
- Life Outer Space – Melissa Keil
- Love, Simon – Becky Albertalli
- Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell
- Hunting Prince Dracula – Kerri Maniscalco

2. Read a book involving a mother/daughter relationship (in honour of our favourite mother/daughter relationship. ever.)
- Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell
- Emergency Contact – Mary H.K. Choi
3. Read a (cosy) book set during fall/winter (in honour of all the Stars Hollow festivities)
- Once Upon a Winter’s Eve (Spindle Cove Novella #1.5) – Tessa Dare
- Hunting Prince Dracula – Kerri Maniscalco
- The Bear and the Nightingale – Katherine Arden
4. Read a book with complicated love interests (in honour of Dean, Jess and Logan)
I don’t like love triangles. They always annoy me so I’ll be focusing this more on the hate to love trope or just other types of relationship.
- Serpent & Dove – Shelby Mahurin (a witch and a witch hunter in an arranged marriage)
- The Darkest Pleasure – Gena Showalter (an immortal warrior that’s bound to the demon of pain and in love with a mortal who is on the run)
- His Hostage – Kelsey Lian (Emmeline Reed is at the wrong place at the wrong time and is taken hostage when she recognises the guys from school)
- Nowhere But Here – Katie McGarry (Emily, the daughter of the head of the motorcycle club and Oz, who wants to join the Reign of Terrors but needs to prove himself by doing a job assigned by the leader which is to protect his daughter – Emily – from a rival club)

5. Read a book with Asian representation, or written by an Asian author (in honour of our favourite best friend, Lane Kim)
- Wicked Fox – Kat Cho
- Emergency Contact – Mary H.K. Choi
6. Read the next book in a series you’ve been meaning to finish (in honour of A Year In The Life)
- Scarlet – Marrisa Meyer
- Loyalty – Megan DeVos
- The Dream Thieves – Maggie Steifvater
- Hunting Prince Dracula – Kerri Maniscalco

7. Read a book with food on the cover and/or involves food somewhere in the story (in honour of Sookie and Luke’s Diner)
- With the Fire on High – Elizabeth Acevedo
- P.S I Still Love You – Jenny Han
This is another easy-going, flexible readathon that you can double up and fit the book anyway that you can. As you can see there’s a couple of books I can use for multiple challenges. I’ll probably end up doubling up but it’s good to have options.
P.S. I forgot to mention the group book is Lauren Graham’s Talking as Fast as I can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between)
Until next time…
Xx
