I know I did and I can happily say I finished my last week of NEWTs with a bang!
Week 4
22 & 23rd of August
I didn’t get a whole heap of reading done, maybe only a couple of chapters for each.
24th August
For Days of Blood and Starlight, I’m officially 72% of the way in. It’s a story I’ve been enjoying but now I’m REALLY getting into it as I can tell it’s building up. I’m finding myself reading quicker and quicker.
Fangirl has, sadly, been put to the side right now. I don’t know what it is but it’s not grasping my attention like I thought I would. I pictured myself devouring it but I can’t seem to be as bothered. Throughout my time time reading Fangirl I’ve picked up other books and finished them.
25th August
Today I read two mangas, Dengeki Daisy (volume 1 and 2) by Kyousuke Motomi. Mum recommended it to me so I thought I’d use that as my recommendation prompt instead of Stalking Jack the Ripper. I’ll now use Stalking Jack the Ripper as my green cover prompt as the cover of the book is in fact green. I don’t think I’ll be finishing Fangirl any time soon (which was going to be my green cover). All I need to do now is make sure I finish my audio-book and I think…I’ve completed NEWTs!
26th, 27th, 28th August
These days just flew by. So quick I felt as though I didn’t do much. I just kept going through my audio-book whenever I remembered.
29th August
I finished Days of Blood and Starlight! My audio-book and last book for NEWTs. I’m so happy I’ve finished it as it was a book I’ve been reading for a while now but just wasn’t going at the pace I wished, that’s why I switched it to the audio-book version and I whirled through. It was the push I needed to get through the first section of the book. I feel like it was definitely worth the wait! Can’t wait to pick up the final book in the trilogy!
30th August
Today was a chill day for reading as I can now relax as I’ve finished the NEWTs (I’m so happy to write that :D). I picked up Night of Cake and Puppets by Laini Taylor (spoiler: this book will be in the book haul I’ll be putting up soon and it’s a big haul too!) which is the companion novel of Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy. As I’ve just finished the second book (Days of Blood & Starlight) I thought I’d read this to keep me in the world. This focuses on another pair Zuzana and Mik who I love dearly and utterly adored this book! I wanted to more of their cuteness. The illustrations as well were gorgeous, making the reading experience even better.
31st August
I’m in the middle of deciding my next read. In September I’d like to start The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Steifvater. I saw on Youtube somebody was hosting a readalong where each week will be dedicated to each book, so I’ll see how I am feeling tomorrow and if I’m up to starting the series.
My other two options is Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper #2) by Kerri Maniscalco and Scarlet by Marissa Meyer. I might try a chapter of each and see what grabs me.

This was definitely one of my best reading months this year actually I think ever! I don’t think I’ve ever read so much in this amount of time and I absolutely loved it!
