Hey everyone! How are we all today? Wishing you all the best.
Ever since I’ve become more familiar with the book community (I’m still amazed it’s taken me this long to find this community), I’ve been hearing more about upcoming books this year or in the next year. It’s cool to see and it builds up the excitement and anticipation. Now with booktubers having gone to Bookexpo and Bookcon we are able to see some of the ARCs for upcoming releases. There’s plenty of new releases on our way. I definitely have my eye on a few.
Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin
Publication date: September 3rd
An arranged marriage between a witch hunter and a witch. I’m sold. From what I’ve heard it’s a slow burn romance, enemies to lovers trope, with action, an amazing magical system with strong female friendships.
This just sounds incredible and all I’ve seen so far is positive reviews and ratings. I’m so keen to read this. I reckon this is on the top of my list.
Wayward Son (Simon Snow #2) by Rainbow Rowell
Publication date: 24th September
This is the second book in the Carry On series. I haven’t read Carry On yet but I hope to get to the book by this year and the second one is definitely on my to buy list as I already know I’m going to love it. This month I’m planning to read Fangirl.
Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco
Publication date: 10th September
Capturing the Devil is the fourth and final book in the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. I own book 1 (Stalking Jack the Ripper), 2 (Hunting Prince Dracula) and 3 (Escaping from Houdini). Haven’t read any of them but I aim to read the first one soon. There’s been so many good reviews I am already looking forward to the final release.
The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
Publication date: 8th October
This one has appeared on Booktube a few times and every description has been; New Orleans, vampires, 19th Century. I’ve never read a Renee Ahdieh book before but I’m loving the sound of this.
Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker, Wendy Xu (Artist)
Publication date: 15th October
This will be such a cute Halloween read. I don’t know too much about the story but the illustrations look adorable. It seems like a cosy ready that will make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
The Guinevere Deception (Camelot Rising #1) by Kiersten White
Publication date: 5th November
This is an Arthurian retelling. This is the first book in the upcoming Camelot Rising trilogy. It seems like it’s focused on Guinevere who is to marry King Arthur and at the same time is trying to hide her secret identity of being a changeling. It would be so interesting to read a twist on the King Arthur story. I don’t really know any other books that do this.
Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Steifvater
Publication date: 5th November
I really need to read the Raven Cycle. This is another reason why. If I’m correct this follows one of the characters from the series (Ronan Lynch). As this comes out in November it means I still have a few months before so…if I can get myself going, and not get distracted with other books, I hope to get round to starting the series. On Goodreads so many people are ecstatic for this to come out. If anything it’s hyping me up to start the series.
Are any of you looking forward to new book releases? If so, which ones?
Until next time…
