Hey guys! How is everyone?
I’m back with another book haul and if you’ve read the title, yes, this is part one. And this is a totally unplanned book haul as I was expecting how big this book haul would be. This month or so I have just been buying. I’m normally somewhat controlled when buying new books but something has happened where I just keep buying and buying. There were books sales online and I had found a new bookstore so I had to buy something! I love all my new books and so excited to read these but my bank account is not looking too happy.
Without further ado, here are my recent purchases.
Heartstopper: Volume 1 by Alice Oseman

This was such an adorable book from start to finish. The art style was so cute and I love that it was Alice, herself, drew the illustrations. Knowing this felt like it added that extra touch to it. I love Charlie and Nick and their story. I finished this in an afternoon. I found myself smiling to myself over their cuteness. I am impatiently waiting for the next volume.
Also, I really want to read Alice Oseman’s other novels. I really like her writing style so I will be on the look out for her books in the book store.
Rating: 5/5
The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

The cover immediately intrigued me. The colours are so vibrant. I know nothing about this series. I’m interested to see what this will be about. From what I’ve seen there is a sixteen-year old girl named Twylla who is an executioner so she is ignored. Despite this she’s engaged to the prince. There is also a forbidden romance where a new guard enters the scene, who, unlike the others, pays attention to her.
I’m excited to see what type of world I’ll be a part of when reading this book. Maybe a fantasy? Seems like there will be a mixture of romance, action and set in a historical period.
Six of Crows & The Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

This is a duology that is significanty talked about. I don’t know why it has taken me this long to grab them both but there have been good reviews so I am eager to begin. I’m sure many of you recognise these titles. They were both under $20 each so this was my chance to grab them. When reading other’s blog posts and watching BookTubers, this series always pops up. I have to read Six of Crows and the Crooked Kingdom at least once! I feel like I’m going to really love it and again I’m surprised it’s taken me this long to buy them.
Enchantée by Gita Trelease

Enchantée by Gita Trelease is set in the late 1700s in Paris. A historical fiction mixed with fantasy. I really enjoy reading historical fiction which is why this immediately caught my eye, along with how gorgeous this cover is. This novel follows Camille who is living in poverty and trying to help look after her family after their parents had died. It seems like she possesses magic and uses this to become a part of the french court. I assume that through this comes drama and trouble. Definitely is an alluring world that I would love to read about.
The Vanishing Throne by Elizabeth May

This is the second book in the Falconer series. In my last book haul I showed you guys the first book. The moment I started reading it I decided to buy the rest of the trilogy. Love the Scotland 1800s, steampunk and fantasy vibe. I’ve also read from reviews that the books actually get better as the trilogy goes on so I’m looking forward to continue this series.
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

Another well-known title that I’m sure every book lover has heard about. I feel like it has taken me this long to buy the book because it’s been so hyped up. I do this annoying thing where, no matter what it is, (whether it’s TV shows, movies or a book), I don’t start it until the hype starts to die down. I don’t know why I do this but nevertheless, this series is one of the ones that was definitely hyped. I have heard so many good things about it and it’s ratings are pretty high. I have read there is a trigger warning for bullying/abuse. BookTubers I watch did mention the bullying/abuse can get quite intense but the magic world completely makes up for it. I want to go into this book with a clear head as well as being aware of the more intense scenes. I feel as though this will be a book that tugs at your heart strings.
Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott with Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Laconis

Speaking of tugging on your heart strings….Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott with Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Laconis. The cover is so beautiful. The blue is such a gorgeous shade. I wanted to read the book first before I saw the movie, that way I will be prepared for whatever will occur. It’s kinda giving me the Fault in Our Stars vibe so I can already imagine what the ending will be like but it’s a heart aching story that I’m ready to bring into my life.
Okay I’m going to stop the book haul here. Like I said this is only part one so there will be plenty more to come! Let me know if you enjoyed this and if you’ve read any of these. I’d love to hear all about it!
Until next time…
Xx
