January Wrap-Up 2019

Hello everybody!

January is done and dusted. Summer is still very much upon us but we managed to survive record breaking heat! It’s felt like a long January. I hope you all had a great start to the year. For me it’s been rocky and not the best but I hope by the end of the year things will be looking up. Now, as it’s a monthly wrap-up and me saying not a whole lot happened you would understand that this one will not be as long as my previous wrap-ups.

What I’ve Read:

  • Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

This book took me by surprise. It was a good read and I enjoyed it. I liked Eleanor’s character. Sometimes I wasn’t prepared for her bluntness and honesty but she tells it like it is and doesn’t beat around the bush. I respect that. It opened your eyes on certain issues and highlighted the reality of how life is. Also the the twist at the end was nicely done. I enjoyed the flow of the writing and language used.

Rating: 3.5/5

  • Pillow Thoughts by Courtney Peppernell

I’d definitely recommend this book of poetry and prose. The title fits perfectly with the style of writing. It’s those thoughts/conversations you have in the middle of the night where you feel like you can talk about anything and have this vulnerability surrounding you. As I’ve been reading I’ve used post-it notes on my favourite passages.

Rating: 4/5

What I’ve Done/Achievements:

  • It’s been kind of a slow blogging month. I’ve only uploaded three posts and that’s fine.
  • Family from England and South of France flew down to visit us which was lovely.
  • I’ve recently started a Personal Goals & Development eBook. I discovered it on Instagram on the account MyLifelines. Each month there are worksheets to fill out focused on certain topics/areas. There’s been a lot of work put into it and accessible for anyone as well as it being 100% free! The account is run by three girls (Abby, Lauren and Jordan) and it’s an account I definitely recommend. It’s all about female empowerment and self-care. The first month is all about goal setting/plans and this month’s is a self-care checklist. I love it (I swear they didn’t ask me to write this, I just honestly love the idea of it).

January Posts

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this post!

Until next time…

    1. It’s a great read. Would definitely recommend! I’m hoping to add a lot more of that style of poetry to my TBR list. You’re always able to find something that fits your mood.
